I was brought on to the project to begin developing a design system as NACD was moving over to a new platform and took the opportunity to redesign the site during this transition. I worked closely with the Director of Marketing and Digital to create and structure a design system that is robust and extensible for long term use.
We began by auditing the different pages of the site to find common patterns we could pull into the design system to refine. We wireframed different content types to make sure we could establish a standard approach for articles, press releases etc.
Upon creating components and variants of those components in Figma, we put together multiple pages to test the design system and verify that it met the needs of NACD and the new platform, Optimizely.
